At the time of this writing the Coronavirus has swept the entire globe and infected many people. Unfortunately, some of those infected have also passed away from it. As the people of God though, is this virus something that we need to fear? Well let’s take a look at a few scriptures and find out.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Psalm 91:3 - Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
Psalm 91:9-11 - Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
What is your reaction to any virus or plague in the world now that you’ve read these scriptures? Do those things leave you afraid? Hopefully after reading these scriptures you are at peace knowing you have God’s protection from these things. Of course, it is also wise to use common sense and the natural things to protect yourself such as washing hands often, wearing a mask, ect. With that said, if you do the natural things and pray and believe for God’s protection you will have no reason to fear any sort of virus or plague as you will be protected. Glory to God.
