Boing, boing, boing.
That’s usually the sound a slinky makes when it is going in motion from higher to lower ground. Well okay, that’s not really the sound; but if you have ever seen one in action, you know what I’m talking about. If you never had one as a kid or just don’t know what it is, a slinky is a pre-compressed helical spring that has been made into a toy. One of the most common things to do with it is set it at the top of a set of stairs and flip the slinky over so it “walks” down the stairs one by one until it gets to the bottom. Even though you know the slinky is just going to go from the top to the bottom of the stairs, it’s still fun to watch it go down each step.
Similarly, God will lead us step by step in the situations that we deal with in life instead of instantly taking us from “the top of the stairs to the bottom” so to speak. It’s because of this we need to trust God and learn to enjoy or at least tolerate the process knowing He will get us from point A to point B--even if it’s not as fast as we would prefer. It may be difficult depending on the particular circumstance, but we can have faith the Lord won’t leave our side (Hebrews 13:5).
Thankfully He also puts godly brothers and sisters in Christ in our lives who can help bear the burden with us (Galatians 6:2). Going forward, make the decision to trust God if you haven’t already and try to enjoy/tolerate the process as He takes you step by step through your particular circumstance.
