If you have been a Christian for any amount of time, there is a good chance you have sinned in some way. God knew we could never live a sinless life, so He sent Jesus to do that so we wouldn’t have to. When we do mess up, it’s important to not let the devil keep us in a place of guilt and make us feel like God won’t forgive us for our screw-up.
Sometimes Satan is so good at making us feel like we won’t be forgiven even when we hear we will be by fellow christians. We even find ourselves asking, “Are you sure?” 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Thank God when we sin we can go to Him and repent to make things right and be cleansed from all unrighteousness. Having said that it’s important to note we should still not make a practice of sinning. 1 John Chapter 2:1 says, “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” Our God really is good. If you aren’t already, live your walk with Christ by not making a practice of sinning but remembering that when you mess up, you can repent and make things right with Him and not feel condemned or unforgiven.
